With lots of practice, your high score will keep improving and you will eventually be proud that you lasted 40 seconds, but the pressure really racks up when you reach 50 because getting the full minute is the goal to complete the level. but will keep coming back for one more go. Time and time again, you will scream and shout “impossible!”, “eeeeeh” etc. No instructions are given, but with a bit of trial-and-error, you quickly learn and start beating your high score of 4 seconds. Although there are 6 modes in total, even the easiest one is hard, and is even labelled “hard” with subsequent difficulties “harder”, and finally “hardest”. You get thrown straight in at the deep end. As this is happening, the hexagon is rotating, the colours are flashing the tempo keeps changing, and mind-bending music is playing. As time progresses, there are objects that come towards you that form simple mazes which you have to navigate through without being hit. You play as a triangle that can move around a hexagon in the middle of the screen. It takes a simple game-play mechanic, simple graphics and mixes them with insanity which results in a highly difficult, but highly addictive game.

Super Hexagon is exactly what indie games should be.
